April 2022, in the Permian Basin, DirtWork Alert^TM detected 317 permits on 250 well pads currently under construction or completed. The number of permits with active pad development fell by 25.6% vs March 2022.

Conversely, the total number of pads associated to these permits increased from 143 in March to 250 in April (+74.8%).

Many drilling permits are filed but many are never drilled. It is important to identify those permits where drilling is actually going to take place.
